During CS ED week we were supposed to have kids come to our class so we could show them a few things. My group and I made obstacle courses for the drones to fly through. Even though no one showed up it was still a good time making the course and trying to fly the drones through them. The obstacle course was made up of hoops that we taped around the library. We also made a slideshow because we were supposed to show the kids it. It was about how to fly them and to show them all the safety methods they had to know before they used them. Even though no one came CS ED week was still a good time.

Since school closure my experience has been very beneficial. However, it didn't start out too well. I got a phone call from my select team lacrosse coach, Justin, and he told me that summer tournaments might be canceled due to the virus. This was a huge problem considering these tournaments are my last chance to get looked at by college recruits. Without these tournaments, coaches would have to recruit players based off of previous tournaments and speaking to other coaches. I’ve put so much time and effort into lacrosse over the past 10 years and because of COVID-19 all that time and effort could go to waste if I couldn’t get into a good college for lacrosse. Because my family and I were very worried about my spring season and summer season being canceled, we called Justin and told him we wanted to see if I could play for the University of Tampa and verbally commit. My sister attends that college and I already know I love it. I had already been on lacrosse visits, so I knew I would be happy playing for them. Justin called the head coach of Tampa who had seen me play many times in different tournaments and put a good word in with him. From there, the head coach of Tampa called me and offered me a position on the team. On March 25th, I verbally committed to playing lacrosse at the University of Tampa for the next four years. With the help of technology, I was able to speak to everyone I needed to very easily, which resulted in my commitment to a college after graduation. Technology is so easy to use nowadays and it is very easy to contact people. Thankfully technology made this possible for my family and me.

Recently Ive been doing a lot more than I was at the beginning of school closure. Ive had to wake up around 7 every morning because I work for my dad now. We do tile work and I work for about six hours. Ive also been working out a lot and Ive been going on runs. I plan to keep doing this because since I didn't have a lacrosse season this year, I have to do good in my summer tournaments and I can't be rusty. Speaking of that, Ive been going to the field with a friend or two most days in the week. Other then that, I still play a lot of xbox and do my homework. Ill keep you posted and let you know what else I have in mind

Technology has helped me a lot recently. Its been hard not being able to go out much so the techno comes in handy. I play a lot of xbox and I'm on my computer and phone daily. Without the technology I would not know what to do. I would be so bored and lost. Also, their is technology in cars too. So without a car I wouldn't be able to leave the house for food, or anything matter of fact. I would just have to go on runs and thats about it. I am thankful that I am able to do all the things I can in this quarantine stage and the reason for that is literally because I have all the technology.

I just read a pretty interesting article. Matter of fact the article was on the COVID19 or coronavirus. It pretty much said that both COVID-19 and the flu are respiratory illnesses. But COVID-19 is not the flu. Research so far indicates that COVID-19 spreads more easily and has a higher death rate than the flu. Scientists are racing to find out more about COVID-19, and our understanding may change as new information becomes available. Based on what we know so far, here's how it compares with the flu. Typical flu symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, muscle aches, headaches, runny or stuffy nose, fatigue and, sometimes, vomiting and diarrhea. With COVID reported symptoms in patients have varied from mild to severe, and can include fever, cough and shortness of breath. Corona and the flu are very close sickness wise. Thats why it is tuff when you think you might be coming down with something but it ends up being corona when you though it was just a bad cough. Overall, there will be more research done and were just going to have to wait.

I read an article based on who's the best player of all time. The debate often settles on Jordan and James because of their all-around talents. The two of them can do it all on the court. Take a look at their statistics. Jordan was a better scorer than James is. Jordan scored 30.1 points per game, while James averages only 27.1. But James is a better rebounder and playmaker than Jordan. James has averaged 7.4 rebounds a game and 7.4 assists, while Jordan averaged 6.2 and 5.3 in those categories. Jordan has six rings while James only has three. The argument on who's better is just based on opinion. They played in completely different decades. There is not a right answer. In my opinion I think Jordan was a better player. The reason for that is because back then it was way more physical and just a tougher game overall rather then how it is now. Thats my opinion.

I read about an article that talked about the worlds biggest hornet. The world's largest hornet has arrived in the United States. It is 2 inches long and normally lives in Asia, but it has recently been found in Washington state. These hornets have an appetite for honey bees, and scientists are making plans to get rid of them. The giant insect's sting is powerful and can be deadly to some people, but this is very rare. Scientists do not know how or where the hornets arrived in North America. Their usual homes are the forests and mountains of eastern and southeast Asia where they feed on large insects, including wasps and bees. The hornet can sting through most beekeeper suits. Their stings contain a powerful poison that affects a person's nervous system, which is a network in the body that includes the brain and spinal cord. The hornets deliver nearly seven times the amount of venom as a honey bee and sting multiple times, which can kill humans. Scientists say if you see one run away because they are very dangerous. |
I read an article about why songs get stuck in our head after listening to it. A song stuck in your head is called an "earworm." This is a song that replays on a loop in your head. A study shows that ear worms are quite common, but the reason for them remains a mystery that researchers are still trying to solve. 90 percent of people have the ear worms at least once a week. 25 percent have them more then once a week. For me, I think I have them more then once because I'm always singing a song and overtime its a different one. They also tend to last 8 seconds. They say its from overplaying songs which is probably right but theres more reasons. In my opinion, I like ear worms. I like them because I like thinking go songs cause then I want to listen to them right when I can so sometimes it helps me remember old songs.

Recently this class has been pretty interesting. The first few days we were just going over what the class was about and what we were going to be doing. But after all that, we flew some drones. It was fun because I haven't flew the drones in a while. I think I had to much fun because I flew it up to high and it got stuck to this big hanging design. My friend and I kept trying to get it down but we couldn't. Then we realized we can just grab a squishy ball and try and throw it to get the drone down. After a few throws I ended up getting it down and everything was all set. Next in this class I think we are going to make 3D keychains which is very exciting and I can't wait.
